End of Season Blues.

Pictures from the top 1) Sigruud on top of Europe 2) Richard and Mike on the Monch 3) The famous shot of the Matterhorn 4) Kenton and Richard on top of the Matterhorn The summer Guiding Season has finally come to a close for us at Dream Guides after some 14 weeks. It’s been a fantastic season from start to finish and we would like to say thanks for all of you out there who made it possible. To bring you up to speed the last few weeks of the season saw yet more Mont Blanc Success, a great Chamonix Classics week (although we had some rain to avoid), an amazing time on the Matterhorn (Kenton’s 1st time to the summit believe it or not) and few days of Alpine Intros. It was a really nice way to end the season with a varied programme. So what happens in the off season, well for the gang here it’s a time of rest after the long summer of guiding but that doesn’t mean that we’re not hard at work. Guy and Steph are hard at work as ever behind the scenes, they have been working on marketing and a new website layout (watch out for this soon) and are about to embark on a 5day Chamonix-Monaco cycle ride taking in some of the hardest mountain passes in the French Alps, look out for a trip report from this one!!! Meanwhile Kenton has been back on the rock with a deep water soloing trip to Mallorca and is now in the UK doing a series of slideshows and motivational talks. We are also looking ahead to the winter; get ready for the winter 08/09 ski courses and ice climbing which will be posted very soon. We’re hoping for a repeat of last year where both Skiing and Ice climbing conditions where great throughout the season. Also remember that just because it’s the off-season it doesn’t mean climbing stops in the Alps. The conditions in the hills are great right now and some of the classic harder routes are shaping up well. It could be a fantastic end to a great year. Take care out there The DG gang
