Kathmandu
Well its buisness as normal here in Nepal. My flight got me in late yesterday afternoon and I was rushed to the Ministry of Tourism before I even got to my hotel. They were staying open late to get the Dream Guides Everest permit issused before the weekend. I have never been in and out of the Ministry quite so quickly....amazing how paper can be pushed when people want it too!!
I also got to meet up with Rob Casserly who is just back from an Everest Basecamp trek. All the folk with him had an amazing time and its something that Dream Guides will be looking to run on a permentant basis from now on, we will keep you posted on that.
More exciting than all of this though is the news that Rob is set to marry his girlfriend...the beautifull Marie-Cristal, he proposed on the trek and she said YES!!! From all of us at Dream Guides we wish them both the very best.
I fly to Lukla and start my trek to BaseCamp tomorrow but I'll try and update along the way with a few pictures to give you a flvour of the Khumbu valley.
Take care out there.

Everest Bound with Dream Guides!
Well when things happen they happen fast at Dream Guides. We've been having fun this winter Skiing and Ice Climbing and spring had crept up on us, rock boots were dusted down and shirts were being removed at the crag, its been great seeing the spring in, something we don't always do due to the Himalayan expeditions we do. Then BLAM a curve ball was thrown into the mix, we've been asked to work in a role best described as a consultant on an Everest expedition, its all pretty last minute and we have had to drop everything to make it happen.
Guy has had to take on some extra work in France due to the fact that I (Kenton) am heading out to Nepal this Thursday leaving him to Guide the whole work load, as well as finalize moving house and planning his own wedding, well the last 2 are down to Steph really!! (Sorry for dropping it all on you Fella). But he is coping well as ever!
It going to be a strange expedition this year as its all so lat minute but we are all looking forward to the challenge that its presenting us here at Dream Guides and we are hoping for success in late May.
We can't tell you too much about the clients just yet (its all a bit hush hush!) but we will fill you in as and when we can.
In the mean time its business as normal in the Alps and its still not too late to book that ski touring trip and Mont Blanc is in great condition to ski right now so check out those trips on the web site.
Be cool out there and keep an eye out for the Everest updates!!
