Autumn in the Alps

While Guy has been cycling down South and then Rock climbing on the sunny cliffs near Monaco I (Kenton) have been in Chamonix and what a week. The sun has been out almost every day and the days cold and crisp. The summer is behind us now and Autumn is here and with it the Beautiful colours and blue sky days. This week has been action packed. It started with some rock climbing at my local crag at Mont Saxonnex before moving on to a new crag in Bionassay (which is awsome). The current conditions mean that friction on the rock is about as good as it gets while belaying in the sun is a joy. Some of the other crazy cats have been skiing this week with reports of nearly 70cm of fresh snow at the top of the Midi, although it was a little heavy, nevertheless a good sign for the winter. The alpine climbing is looking good with people on M6 Solar, Chere Coulior and even the Grand Jorasses. Then to top it all my wonderfull wife did here first paragliding flight today so well done to her. Just because the summer is over doesn't mean that there isn't fun to be had in fact with no crowds this is one of the best times to enjoy the alps. take care KC
