Green light for Summit

After what feels like an age sitting at base Camp waiting we have a green light. Tomorrow Morning the whole team will set off for BC on what will become the summit push.

We have been carefully looking at all the weather forecasts and it would appear that we have a great summit window, low winds and almost no forecast snowfall.

Some teams at BC have already left looking for an earlier summit, in fact if all goes well the first teams should be on top in the early hours tomorrow (17th).

By leaving tomorrow to camp 2 we hope to be on the summit on the morning of the 21st and all back in BC no later than the 23rd and from there a return to Kathmandu. This all feels along way off right now, we are all just focused on one day at a time and we hope this will lead to a successful summit.

The whole team of Mike, Anita, Ran, Yuri, Laura and of course myself would like to thank all who have posted kind words on the Dream Guides Site.

I will try to up date via the Dream Guides office while we are on the hill but if I don’t please don’t worry as no news is good news. In the mean time keep fingers and toes crossed for the morning of the 21st.

A HUGE thanks to all who have supported the Dream Guides Everest 08 expedition. This includes

Mountain Hardwear

Ice Breaker

Land Rover

Lyon Equipment

Petzl

La Sportiva

Julbo

Top Out Oxygen

Hi Kenton,

Congratulations. Met Ran two years ago and yourself last year at the Kendal film festival where I discovered dream guides and toyed with the idea of climbing Mt. Blanc. Last week I lost my brother and just last night decided that myself and two friends would go for the Mt. Blanc challenge. Today a woke up to find that you and Ran had reached the summit of Everest (I didn't even realise you were attempting the climb). This has further inspired me to attempt the Mt.Blanc climb.

Thankyou, Jeff

Legendary leg-work and many congratulations from the White-Wine-Spritzers, who would like to take this moment to bathe in your reflected glory....

(whilst knowing that if we were actually there we'd still be supping on Grappa at Base Camp, waiting interminably until it became a bit less cold, gnarly and, well, high).

Safe down and see you back at Base-base-base-base camp
