Manaslu Expedition Kicks Off

Its summit time. The bottom of the pool at the Summit Hotel
Its a huge hello from a hot and sweaty Kathmandu.
Most of the Dream Guides Manaslu team memebers are now here in Kathmandu, so thats Andy, Fredrik and Alan as well as myself (Kenton) We're just waiting on Charles who arrives later today and Colin who is on a fast track mission and doesn't get here until Sept 13th (Its a long story!!)
As ever its great to be back in Nepal and greeted by old friends. I'm always pleaseantly surprised by how freindly the whole place is, especailly after spending time in London!!
The flight over went really well, I got the skis and a heap of luggage on without extra charge, this was partly due to be reconigised at check in. The lovely lady worked some magic and before I knew it some 45kg of kit was just waved through.....Thanks to all at Qatar Airways.
The last 2 days have been a whirlwind of meetings, sorting and packing of equipment and generally getting everything ready for the trek to BC. Its still the end of the Monsoon here so everything is damp so we have to be super careful packing our high altitude down gear. And the rain keeps falling.
Everything has gone super well so far and it looked like we would be leaving Sat morning for the start of the trek but then along comes the Nepal curve ball. A problem with the permit has meant that we have to wait an extra 24hrs in Kathmandu, its one of those silly little issues that shouldn't be a hassle but somehow always are. Its no real stress in the greater scale of things its just that the team are all buzzing and can't wait to get going on what looks like a fab trek to the mountain.
