Guy spent Monday and Tuesday working on an off piste course and they had some amazing conditions to savour, early feedback was received in the manner of huge smiles!! Tuesday saw nick Bullock and myself dispatched a rather spicy ice climb called La Dame de Foron III 6. A very pleasurable first pitch led to a small column of ice up to a roof with an ice fringe that lead to a super top ice section. It was a good effort by Nick on the tricky mixed section on the second pitch.
Finally today was a day of contrast. Nick, Neil Broadie and myself set off to do what we thought was a new route, silly us of course hadn't looked at the guide. DOH. Anyway Goulotte Des Gets II 4+ was a great little outing and as we made our way down in the sun Neil suggested going rock climbing....what an idea. So today was 2 pitches of lovely ice followed by a quick cup of tea and then 3 pitces of sunny rock (T Shirts and sunglasses even!!!)
I really can't think of too many places where you can ski great powder one day, climb amazing ice the next and then finally climb ice and rock in the same day. It really only happens in the Alps.
