Great Snow

Happy new year to all of you out there!! Despite rumours that the Alps don't have good snow at the moment Chamonix and surrounding area has experienced some great Ski conditions these last few days. Yesterday saw Andy, Charlotte, Jazz and myself skiing at Courmayeur and we found great conditions. In places almost knee deep super fine powder gave whoops of delight from the team. The off piste was fantastic but the pistes were also in wonderful conditions with a few inches of new snow on top of nicely groomed runs. The ice is also finally coming into condition. Lowering temperatures means that the icefalls are firming up. I climbed in Cogne the day before new year and although a little damp Cascade Lillaz was in good conditions. A number of other icefalls were looking like they were climbable as well. In short it looks like the winter is about to kick off in a major way, both on the ski and ice climbing front. All of us at Dream Guides can hardly wait, in fact we haven't been waiting so come and join us in the snow. Team Dream Guides!
